Gigabit x2 plan upload speed - stuck at 80Mbps

Hi there,

About a year ago, I was upgraded to the Gigabit x2 Plan . Since then, I have consistently seen download speeds >1800Mbps, which is good. But my upload speeds are stuck at <80Mbps, which is not as good. These speeds are over ethernet directly into gateway.

Currently using the XB7 gateway, model TG4482A, in router mode.

Any ideas on steps to increase the upload speeds to the "up to 300 Mbps" in my x2 plan? Thanks in advance.

user_31965b The XB8 is more in line to handle the 2 Gig plans. Have you tried to upgrade since you moved to this plan?

That is a good idea - thank you. I just requested an equipment upgrade and will provide an update here after the new gateway arrives in a few days.

Received and installed the new XB8 today but am seeing the same speeds as before, specifically my upload speeds are still <80Mbps. Would welcome any other ideas, please.

We appreciate you trying out the Xfinity xFi Gateway (XB8) model modem @user_31965b. We can certainly help go over a few more steps to see if we can identify any additional areas. Have you had a chance to visit our 'Tips for troubleshooting your Xfinity Internet connection' knowledge base article that can walk you through checking the signal levels that are reaching the modem?

Do you also know if there is a cable amplifier plugged in that is connected to your home network? Have you also checked the quality of the coax cable within the home to ensure there are not hard bends, kinks, cuts, or bite marks that could interfere with the communication over the Xfinity network?

Investigating further and it appears there are only 2 upstream bonded channels to the XB8:
