Gateway modem/router will not turn on

My gateway will not power on. I have already tried unplugging, waiting, and plugging the power back in at both the outlet and device multiple times. Same for the cable. The outlet is able to power other devices so the problem is not there. The wps button on top also does nothing. No indicator lights are on or flashing. It was working this morning but when I came home from work it was off and will not turn on again. As far as I know my residence didn't have any power outages. Please help!

Update: the next morning I unplugged it for probably more than an hour and plugged it back and for some reason it turned on this time!  I am happy it works but I also have no idea what caused the problem or solution, I didn't do anything different than what I was doing before.  Any insight would be appreciated.
