Frequent unannounced outages

I've been experiencing frequent unannounced outages in my neighborhood. I work from home and this makes the outages very disruptive. Why are these happening? Is there some way I can learn of these before they happen so that I can plan accordingly?

Would you know if other close by neighbors are also being affected ?

Same here. I work from home, and it would be nice to know so I can make other arrangements. This has been going on for three consecutive days now. Not that my internet is all that reliable normally, but this is far worse than usual.

Hello and thank you for your feedback, @user_0a3172! No one likes a service interruption including us. I'd be reaching out too if I could not enjoy my services. This is not the experience we want for anyone. We can assist! If one or more of your Xfinity services aren’t working, you can check to see if a service interruption has been reported in your area in a few different ways.

The Xfinity app works great to check your account status. And, if nothing is reported you can even use the app to troubleshoot. Additionally, the Status Center allows you to view your connection status, fix service issues, and check for local interruptions. And, if your internet is down you can find and connect to Xfinity WiFi hotspots when you need them most. Just sign in to any xfinitywifi network using your username and password.

Please create a new topic of your own here on this board detailing your issue and someone will attempt to assist you there. Please do not post in someone else's help thread in progress. Multiple posters piling onto and being helped in a single thread becomes too complicated, confusing, and convoluted. And it's unfair to the original poster. Thank you.

And for future reference, it is better to submit your own post as it creates a ticket to get help, and posting on someone else's older thread can delay getting help.

RickS-C137 Hi there! I totally get how frustrating those unexpected outages can be—we work from home too, so I know how disruptive it is when your connection goes down out of nowhere.

To stay informed, you can sign up for Xfinity alerts by logging into your Xfinity account online or through the Xfinity app. Once logged in, go to Account Settings > Notifications, and enable Service Notifications for updates on service status in your area. This way, you'll get real-time updates and estimated resolution times, helping you plan around them more effectively.

Let us know if you’d like help to set that up or need anything else!
