Forcing a device to use the 2.4GHz network after installing Wi-Fi pods

Since I installed two pods to fix spotty Wi-Fi coverage, half of the house automation is malfunctioning because it is no longer possible to separate the SSIDs of the two frequencies since the pods are active. I must have the controller of the smart devices on the same SSID at 2.4GHz, but once the artificial stupidity baked into comcast router decided to associate it to the 5GHz I have no way to force it back to 2.4GHz and all the devices it controlled are now orphan.

Short of getting rid of the pods, what solution do I have to force the device to the 2.4GHz? The only temporary solution has been to create a different SSID with an old router, but I am back to square one with the poor coverage that I tried to fix with the pods and have to deal with a partitioned network.

The Pods only work in WiFi 6 mode.  Just the way Xfinity stuff works.  Not real compatible with old gear.  There are mesh solutions, MoCA adapters, powerline adapters, repeaters, and access points though.

Thanks. Time to ditch the comcast equipment.

You always have the opportunity to purchase your own cable modem and wireless networking devices if the modem rental in your current possession is not providing you with the specific needs of your network.
