fail to connect amazon echo dot to xfinity gateway

Hello, 

Just received the new amazom dot echo and after several tries found from several searches that problem related to gateway equipment.

When I'm trying to setup new define in hangs for Searching for WiFi forever. 

Please help me how to fix this problem.

Hello @user_7c4dd8 and thank you for contacting us here at the Xfinity Community Forums regarding this issue connecting your Amazon Dot Echo to your home network.

When opening the Alexa app and going to the Menu. Select Settings, then select Wi-Fi. Select Add Network and enter your Xfinity username and password. Is the Add Network option not available for you, or are you receiving the message after adding your Xfinity username and password?

Thank you for reply. 

But, Alexa app does not have Settings/Add Network feature. I have several devices configured already, and they work great. But new 2 echo dot are unable to connect.

We can certainly reset the wireless module for you. Would you be willing to send us a private message with your full name and address?

 

To send a "Peer to peer" ("Private") message:

Click "Sign in" if necessary

-Click the "Direct Message" icon (square chat icon in the upper right corner of your screen next to the bell icon)

-Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

-Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list that appears, and the "Xfinity Support" graphic will replace the "To:" line

-Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

-Press Enter to send it

I no longer work for Comcast.
