Extremely Slow Internet At Peak Hours

Usually during the evening and especially weekend evenings, speeds will drop to anywhere from 3 to even 0.5 Mbps, and we are paying for 800 Mbps! I'm wondering if others are having similar issues, because it seems like Xfinity's network can no longer handle the congestion, and I wonder if something can be or will be done about it.

Hey there, @user_vxljm8 thanks for reaching out through Xfinity Forums regarding your internet connection issue. I definitely want to help with ensuring your speeds are working properly! I know my household enjoys streaming and gaming on the weekend evenings. Are you getting the right speeds besides the evenings? How are your devices primarily connected, wirelessly or hardwired with an Ethernet cable?

Yes speeds are usually fine and we're connected wirelessly, but we've been doing speed tests straight from the router to bypass any chance it could be the wireless connection's fault.

Does this issue happen at a specific time?

It almost always happens around 8-9 PM local (mountain) time, and seems the worst on Sun night

That is very odd with those types of specific times that you experience those problems. I would like to look further into that from here for you. Could you send me a direct message with the full name and complete address for your service?

To send a direct message [private message]:

Click the "Direct Message" icon or  https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there.

   - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list.

   - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line.

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

   Press Enter to send it

Thanks for resolving the issue! Speed test is great now, but I'm having a new issue with DNS now (all websites are extremely slow or fail to load, despite fast speed tests).

Same issue, I'm paying for 1000MB but gets painfully slow every night around 7 pm PST. I'm not even streaming and the app barely works. Is this really just congestion?

Xfinity was able to fix the issue for us after sending a tech out to confirm the congestion. They scheduled a day for some downtime to work on the Internet around our area.
