Extreme Ping spike every 11 minutes (Solved)

Having an issue similar to This Thread. Unfortunately, the fix doesn't seem to be obvious in the thread itself and it appears as if a technician may be necessary. I am getting ~2k+ ping every 11 minutes almost exactly. The 11 minute timer begins when the router is turned on, not a set interval coming into the apartment. The spikes began roughly 3 weeks ago and have been consistent and unwavering since. The spikes are also happening to multiple devices on LAN and Wi-Fi. I am using the comcast modem and router provided. 3 calls to customer service and was told that everything is working fine and if they send a technician, that I would be charged as they will likely find nothing wrong on their end. Please advise!

Solution: I got tired of waiting for a response on private messages and this post. Through several phone calls, the exact same speed and connection tests were administered. I was given an ultimatum of "Have a tech come out, but you'll be charged if we find nothing wrong with our equipment." I was also offered a cell phone plan many times (at a reduced price), and offered an upgrade to my internet speeds that "was guaranteed to clear up the issue". This 1GB/s upgrade from my 800MB/s was the issue, says the customer service representative. After realizing that my uninterrupted service was not their main concern, but it was a sale that they were after, I took matters into my own hands. I took my gateway and cable box to my nearest Xfinity center, pretended to have an appointment, and swapped my gear out with new equipment. I was there for maybe 5 minutes. I got home, plugged everything in, and it works perfectly fine now.

Luckily, this can also be a solution for folks looking to get a better cellphone service deal. Just pretend you're having internet problems and they'll give you a good deal that isn't normally available. Wonderful company. Great service.
