Ethernet ports are dead

@EG

So yesterday I realized that all of my ethernet ports are inactive except for one, which  I believe is port 4 the one with red stripe. Other three ethernet ports are dead, nothing that I plug in there works. I have one of those newer gateways, the tall white box. I called Comcast and they are sending a technician on Monday. But if you guys have any suggestions of how to fix it, please let me know, if I can fix it I will cancel the appointment

Thanks

Do you have the gateway in router mode or is it in bridge mode ?

Stuck in "Bridge Mode"?  https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/wireless-gateway-enable-disable-bridge-mode

I don't know if you can set it in the phone app or not.  In any case, you can probably ditch their buggy equipment, save $14/month on the 'rental fee', and have a 3rd party gateway before Monday.  Has to be a supported model:  https://www.xfinity.com/support/devices/  You don't have to buy it there.  You can find them other places and even Wally World.

@flatlander3  I'm not gonna get third party router, I'm not tech savvy and I won't be able to configure it correctly.

If it's not in bridge mode you can try power-cycling it and see ? If that doesn't work you can try hard resetting the device to factory defaults by pressing and holding in the recessed reset button on the rear for 30 seconds. This can sometimes clear up some weird behavior issues. You will lose any customized settings, and they will need to be re-configured from scratch if you do the latter.

Good luck !

I logged into admin tool and bridge mode is disabled so I assume its in router mode.  Plus the WIFI works so if it was in bridge mode WIFI wouldn't work right? I power cycled it, that didn't help, I will just wait for that Comcast technician.

Besides WPS button I do not see any other buttons on the rear, I'm just gonna have to wait for the tech, let them deal with it, its their [Edited: "Language"] router.

FWIW, some of their gateways use the WPS button for both the reset and the WPS functions. You just have to hold it in for around 30 seconds. Good luck !
