Do streaming services like Paramount+ and Disney+ use data if using the Xfinity X1 tv box?
I hate to say, for all the years we've had xfinity and services like netflix, I've never asked.
I got the dreaded "reaching your data cap" email last week, for the first time ever, and the usage meter showed almost 300g more than we ever use.
We weren't watching more on streaming services, so I'm not sure where the spike came from.
To be clear: this is on the TV connected to the X1 box, not via computer or phone.

@Ren_Ron
Welcome to the Xfinity Forum and thank you for posting your question here. As mentioned by user @andyross all stream services that are connected to your home network will use data (regardless of the platform it is streaming on, including X1/Flex). For more information about what counts toward your data usage, we recommend checking the following resources:

Yes, all streaming services on X1 TV, even Peacock, count against your Internet data.

Very interesting! I also got my first 'alert' also for May '22. Is this just a scam to get customers to pay for more service?
