Disconnection from online gameplay

I've been consistently having the problem of being disconnected from games during various online game play. I'd like to note that I have Motorola MG8702 modem/ router


My wife and I both experience it constantly and is quite frustrating. She plays Call of Duty mobile on her phone and she gets disconnected from games seemingly randomly, which can become very infuriating. Also, I experience it quite a bit playing my dragon ball legends game on my phone, same thing, lots of disconnections. 

I could really use any guidance or tips here, anybody!

Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? Our team can most definitely take a further look at this issue.To send a "Direct Message" ("Private") message:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
• Click the "Direct Message chat" icon

Any fix? im having the same problem with the same router and it is very frustrating, talking to xfinity is also not solving my problem

Hello, @user_7b5bb1 When you are disconnected from the game are you noticing the modem disconnects from the network as well? Are you able to check your modem logs and detect errors? Feel free to post a screenshot so the community and I can assist.

If you do post a screenshot / pic of the error log entries, be sure to blot any and all CM MAC and CMTS MAC addresses. They are considered to be personal information. The posting of personally identifying information is a violation of their forum guidelines. The forum bot will not allow your post to be seen publically. You could also copy and paste all of the text, but redact those addresses as well.

@user_df80d1​ Nope, Had a tech come out and he said he saw no problem, he even replaced the splitter and "filter cable" outside. Not sure what it is

Plating games online requires a good upload and download signal. Are you getting that?

@MNtundraRET​ I am getting around 180mbs down and 25mbs up, I don't believe it is a speed problem as it worked fine on my old but slower router. I got a new mg8702 modem and it started happening, I even replaced the modem with another one and the problem still persist. Xfinity sent a tech and he said everything look good and replaced the filter cable outside the house but it is still happening. It happening with my pc and my brother's at the same time and I am on ethernet connected with a mesh network and he is on wireless. Everything was working fine until we upgraded our speed + new modem so I don't believe it is the mesh network problem. it happens randomly maybe once every hour and it drops me from games for 10-15 seconds and I can still hear voice chat but cant respond. I am still getting good wifi speed and everything

The problem is all companies online are increasing security (WPA3). This is done by default in new gateways, etc. It's needed for every day needs like: medical, worksites, banking, etc. Gaming online requires lower security (WPA2).
