Device Discovery Regularly Disabling Itself

I have recently begun having an issue where Device Discovery disables itself without warning or input from me. I only become aware it has happened because I begin having issues connecting to devices outside of the network, and I have to re-enable the setting on the router's advanced settings—I do not have access to fix the setting in the app. This has been happening about once a week, and the start of the problem coincides with my promotional period ending and the price of my service doubling. I am already considering looking at a different ISP, and this issue is only making me more frustrated. How can I keep this option from disabling itself?

user_x4nw9i Good afternoon! We appreciate you taking the time to reach out to our Xfinty Community Forums Team. I can see how this would be a bit of an annoyance. I'd be happy to help you get in the right direction. May I ask if you are logging in as the Primary user when trying to access the Xfinity App?

Sorry, I logged in on my phone and apparently set up a different forum account. But I am the only user on the Xfinity account for our home internet.

No problem at all and thank you for letting us know, user_x4nw9i! I need you to check on the Advertisement Period as that seems to be the root cause of this.

1. Once logged into the Admin Tool, navigate to Advanced > Device Discovery.

2. If you would like to leave UPnP enabled, you can modify the Advertisement Period, which is how often the Wireless Gateway broadcasts its UPnP information to devices on the network.

3. After adjusting this setting, remember to click Save to execute your configuration.

Can you give this a try and let me know if that keeps the setting on for you?
