#datausage

I’ve tried three times to post about the false data usage you are charging me for and magically it won’t post. Reimburse me for the false data usage charges and stop lying on my bill or I will switch ISPs next month, no question.

Good evening, and thank you for taking the time to create a post. Data Escalations need to be handled by our Customer Security Assurance team. I recommend calling 1-800-XFINITY so you can be transferred to the Data Usage Escalations team.

Thank you for the response. I have spoken with at least 6 different xfinity associates. All of them initially show me the false data consumption for the past three months and then suggest I spend more money for an unlimited plan. I do not need an unlimited plan. I have tracked our data consumption via the modem and we use 600Gb or less per month. Why would I spend more money when I do not truly hit the data cap?

I finally got a hold of someone in billing and they refunded the max amount which wasn't even half of the amount I have spent on overage fees. I was then transferred to IT who agrees there was no way that my wife and I were using almost 3TB of data in 30 days. He suggested someone was "stealing our data" and sent a technician to the house. The technician arrived, I explained the situation, and she simply said "oh, there is nothing I can do about that. I'm sorry." and left.

I then submitted a requested call back so I could cancel my service and spoke with various people such as customer retention and then some specialty IT people. These specialty IT people suggested my modem was causing excess data consumption. That is extremely sad to hear from a "specialty IT person" or whatever they are considered. Modems do nothing except change the signal to an analog signal for the phone line. It only transfers data shouldn't be creating any of its own. Changing the modem to reduce data usage is like changing which grocery store you shop at to get less food.

Apparently this is not an isolated issue, nor a recent issue.

Theft by deceit. What a horrible company.
