Data Usage Period
Xfinity Employees and Forum Users,
Last year I found a third party website that stated when Xfinity started the data usage clock each month. I was never able to find the answer any where on Comcast/Xfinity websites. Today, I cannot find the information on first or third party websites.
What I found last year was the first of each month at 00:00 GMT. As I write this post, it is 15:18 eastern (GMT -4) and 19:18 GMT. So for eastern time zone (daylight savings), the time frame for June 2022 would be May 30 @ 20:00 to 30 June @ 20:00.
Why do I ask? I tend to be a heavy user so I keep a close eye on my usage. Yes, I understand Xfinity is continuing to delay charging overage fees for the rest of 2022. I might as well get into the habit to keeping track.
Can someone shed light on the subject? An official document that I can download for future reference? Is my date/time conversion correct?
FYI, I use an application called NetTraffic to keep track on my end. Since I only have one computer, I can run a local application as I will not miss data from other devices (i.e. I do not use WiFi on my cellphone).
Thank you,
Mark

Your understanding of the measurement intervals and date/time conversions appears to be correct. The only source I know of for this information is the company that audited the meter through 2019. The "Comcast 20nn Usage Meter Accuracy Audit Report" documents linked on https://www.netforecast.com/audit-reports under the "Usage Meter Accuracy Audit Reports" heading should have most of the details you are looking for. There doesn't seem to be a report for 2020 or 2021, no idea why not.

Hi @user_f48d68, thank you for reaching out over Xfinity Forums. It certainly never hurts to start taking a look at data usage now and getting into the habit of staying within a terabyte. Data is collected from the 1st day of the month till the last day of the month with the end time being 7PM Eastern, 6PM Central, 5PM Mountain, and 4PM Pacific. That being said, if you are using the Xfinity usage meter to monitor your data you must keep in mind it is 24 hours behind. If you are a heavy user, we may need to get you into unlimited. I understand it is not ideal, but it sure beats having to stop using data sooner than you would like to in the month. I see you have found some great articles, I also have this article "How Do I Avoid Overages" https://comca.st/3ybpcJX;. Our team would be happy to help with your account, when the time comes, to make sure the transition is smooth for you and your family. Thank you for being a loyal Comcast customer!

That's correct where Standard Time is in effect, but this time of the year with most of the country being on Daylight Saving time, the start and end times are 8/7/6/5 PM where DST is in effect.
The usage meter is usually just a few hours behind, although it can be more. The correct verbiage is "up to 24 hours" behind.

All,
Thank you for responding and confirming my understanding of the Comcast's time frame. As mentioned, the application I run on my computer is has been accurate so I rarely check online @ Comcast. Knock on wood...
BruceW,
Thank you for the NetForecast resource. Interesting read.
Regards,
Mark
