correct password not recognized
https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/correct-wifi-password-not-being-recognized/6141f6ba16396f36267ee4cb
has been closed so I'm posting a new message. I have 3 computers, all dual
booting Linux and Windows. The linux systems, and 2 of the Windows systems (7,11)
connect to the internet through my xFi gateway. The Windows 10 system has
stopped connecting. It used to work and stopped working a few months ago.
The network name is displayed on the list of available networks. Selecting
it, and selecting "Connect", the password is requested. Typing it results
in an "incorrect password" message, even though it is correct. I've
re-installed a clean copy of Windows 10, and gotten Xfinity Advisor to
reset the gateway, to no avail.

Hi there! Thanks for taking the time to reach out to us. We are sorry to hear you are having issues connecting your Windows 10 computer to your Wi-Fi network. Our first step would be to try and factory reset the modem. In order to do so, Locate the Reset button on the back of the gateway and use a non-metallic pointed object (such as a toothpick) to hold in the Reset button for 30 seconds until all the LED lights power off. If your gateway does not have a Reset button, locate the WPS button and hold it for 30 seconds.
Once it reboots, the network name will default back to the information that is listed on the label. You can change this information in our awesome My Account app. You can find the formal instructions here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/view-change-wifi-password
Once you have changed your information back to your personal preference. Please let us know if your computer is able to connect to the network. Thank you!
