Can't get 2.4 devices to work on our supposedly "smart" network

documentation says the network will assign best speeds etc. but no 2.4 devices work. The app won't let me make a visible 2.4 band.

Hi @d2morgan, the software should automatically be detecting the correct bands to allow the devices that operate on the 2.4Ghz band. Have you attempted to reactivate the modem in the Xfinity app? 

1. Launch the Xfinity app

2. Select the "Account" tab

3. Scroll down to the "devices" section

4. Select "Activate xFi Gateway or Modem

5. Follow the on-screen prompts
