Can't change wifi channel settings

I live in a community where everyone is on Xfinity internet and I need the ability to change the channel settings. The automatic setting for 2.4 never changes from channel 11 and ALL my neighbors are on that channel also.

Hello and thank you for taking the time to reach out to us here on our Xfinity Forums! I'm more than happy to assist you further and see if your modem has the capabilities to change the channel. Are you using an Xfinity provided modem or a modem that you purchased? Can you please provide the model number of your modem?

@XfinityBillie Thanks for your reply. I am using a Xfinity Gateway XB6 and when I look at the router settings in Xfi the settings for wifi channels no longer are available. As I stated I am in a community where all the internet service is Xfinity routers and I need to be able to change the settings because right now I am on channel 11 for 2.4 and so are all my neighbors. If the automatic option was working correctly not everyone would be on the same channel.

Thanks for sharing the Xfinity Gateway model. If you take the following steps:

  1. Visit https://comca.st/3cRp3kT or open the Xfinity app, and sign in with your Xfinity ID and password.
  2. Select the Connect tab.
  3. Select See Network.
  4. Select Advanced Settings

Do you see the 2.4 and 5 GHz WiFi channels available at all?

Thank you for keeping up with us on what is going on. Did you see the links that @EG provided to change the Wi-Fi channels? Did this help at all? This is great information but if you are still having trouble finding the settings and managing your channels, would you mind sending us a direct message so that we can take a look at your equipment and settings on our end, please?

Here's the detailed steps to Direct Message us:
• Click "Sign In" if necessary
• Click the "Direct Message" icon (upper right corner of this page)
• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
• Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list
• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
• Press Enter to send your message

I no longer work for Comcast.
