Cannot ping a specific website or its IP Address

From within my LAN, I cannot ping or access sprtv.org, although ping returns 66.96.149.32 as the IP Address.  Tracert also fails before leaving denver comcast:

I CAN reach sprtv.org on my Android phone via AT&T Cell (not WiFi calling)

I have friends with this same problem. One is NOT on Xfinity Broadband,

@user_qvg8cw Thank you so much for reaching out for help with not being able to reach this site via ping or directly. We do have a feature called Xfinity Advanced Security if the site is determined to be a potential threat it may be that it is being blocked. On your end, you can

try to disable the Advanced Security feature in the Xfinity app. Tap on the Security tab at the bottom of the screen once logged in. On the next screen, you will see Add Smart Devices across the top and then the Advanced Security tile. Once tapped you can scroll down to see the settings options and toggle Advanced Security to off. Once off try your Ping again and direct access. You can find out more details on the built-in security options here: https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/online-security-with-xfi-faqs If you are still running into issues connecting to the site after it may have been added to the blocked site list by our security team, and you would need to submit a request for reassessment using a link contained on the page linked above look for "How do I report a website blocked by Advanced Security?"

I am also unable to access some iPower hosted sites -- tracert works fine for some, but fails early. This only happens with xfinity internet (i'm not using xfinity wifi or xfinity home, so the xfinity app doesn't show any security options).

I tried a tracrt for sprtv.org and I get the same failure as I get for washdist9.org.  (but llwadistrict9.org and district9wa.org -- both hosted by ipower -- work for me).

Using https://dnschecker.org, tracert works for all of these addresses (including sprtv.org)

@XfinityAmandaB I didn't have Advanced Security turned on and my security setting is at the minimum level.

...  I cannot ping or access sprtv.org ...

Comcast appears to be blocking IP address 66.96.149.32. This is not an Xfinity equipment or Advanced Security block (I have neither), but a deliberate block in their routing system.

You may be able to report this on https://spa.xfinity.com/report.

Your link actually points to https://forums.xfinity.com/conversations/your-home-network/cannot-ping-a-specific-website-or-its-ip-address/Xfinity%20Online%20Security%20with%20Xfi which isn't valid and results in a 404 Not Found page. If you were trying to post https://www.xfinity.com/support/articles/online-security-with-xfi-faqs PLEASE FIX YOUR LINK!!!

Also please note this is not an Advanced Security block, it's an IP block for all Comcast customers, whether they are using Advanced Security or not, and whether they are using a Comcast rental gateway or their own retail Internet equipment.

@BruceW this problem is also affecting comcast business customers (https://forums.businesshelp.comcast.com/conversations/connectivity/unable-to-access-my-businesses-website-from-comcast/658ce6f3e4ada534519589b7) as well. It looks like this IP addresses cohosts a lot of different websites (not suprising since its just static content being served). I've reported to spa.xfinity.com but so far there hasn't been any acknowledgment of the problem on their end, so it doesn't look good for this being resolved any time in the near future.

Thanks for the work and reply.  I reported it as suggested.  I am a Board member and past president of Summit Public Radio and TV, Inc. ( "SPRTV" ) and therefore upset with Comcast blocking the site as SPRTV provides a service to the local community (rebroadcasting TV and FM radio signals into a Rocky Mountain valley) and is supported by contributions.  We do not get any specified tax revenues or any money from NPR or other government source.
