cannot connect to printer since upgrading gateway
Xfinity asked me to upgrade my gateway, I think the new one is an XB6. My printer will not connect to it. I have split bands to ensure that there is a unique SSID for 2.4 GHz, I have moved the security to WPA2, I have added the printer's Bonjour Name and MAC address to the Allow list. I've tried Allow All, I've tried Allow with the printer on the list. The printer, HP4630, says the Xfinity end is MAC Filtering and it cannot connect.
Lousy backwards compatibility Xfinity. And when I last month tried talking to an agent, in one session they changed agents every several minutes and had me start over explaining the problem after each agent (a litany of Hindu gods) told me they could definitely help me with my problem. I'm not getting any appreciable connection speed change from the upgrade, either.
The gateway is approximately 6 feet from the printer. The printer can see the gateway, it's the first seen on its list.

This may be too late, but I just wanted to add that some devices will show a message including mac address filtering whenever a connection is refused for any reason. This can send the user down a rabbit hole where they end up turning mac address filtering on so they can exclude the device from the filtering. This doesn't solve the problem and makes it more complicated the next time they add a device.
