Cannot Add or Activate a 2nd Pro Wifi Extender

I have been trying for 3 days to get a 2nd pro wifi extender added to my home network.

There is a X8 Gateway modem

There is a Pro Wifi Extender, lets call it #1, with a serial number ending in 72.

It is online and showing in my Xfinity app. I can see it in my Xfinity app and it is showing as connected to my network. 

I was able to add it through the Xfinity App under "add More devices."

I picked up a second Xfinity Pro Wifi Extender, lets call it #2, ending in 19 to cover the other side of the house/basement.
I go into Services tab to add it, and select pro wifi extender.
I get a message that says I already have an extender active.


No matter how many support people I speak to, and try to explain i am activating/adding a 2ND ADDITIONAL PRO EXTENDER, no one seems to be able to help me solve this.

The only way I can get it to stop blinking white slowly is to ethernet it into my actual modem (which then tethers it 5 feet from the modem itself, and thus makes it useless.


How can i actually add my second extender to my account/network so that I have

1. 1 Xfinity Gateway X8 covering the living room

2. Wifi Pro Extender 1 covering the upstairs bedrooms

3. Wifi Pro Extender 2 covering the kitchen and basement underneath it.

Note, both Pro Extenders are in the next room over and no closer then 20 feet to the gateway itself, and are both placed by window.

Hey there, Joshb1! Thanks for reaching out to our XFINITY Community forum. I know how vital it is to have a strong Internet connection throughout every corner of your home. Not to worry! You have reached the right team to assist with this matter.
Please check whether the first one is fully online, then try the "Add a Device" option from the "Connect" tab instead of the initial setup menu to add the second extender. Let us know if this helps!

I tried this myself and no connect tab or ability to add my own purchased extender

user_tj58oc Can you try these instructions to see if this works for you?

1. Sign in to the Xfinity App using your Primary or Manager's Xfinity ID and password.
2. Choose the Services tab.
3. Scroll down to select Activate More Devices.
4. Tap Pro WiFi Extender.
5. Tap Get Started.
6. Follow the steps to activate.

Has anyone been able to fix this? I am still having the same exact issue. I cannot get help in the phone or via chat. This is horrible
