Can I set-up an Asus zen wifi mesh system using an Xfinity compatible surfboard combo modem/router (SVG2482AC)?
I currently have xfinity internet which I access via a Surfboard SVG2482AC combination modem and router. It works fine; however, I live in a three level townhouse and I had to set-up an extender to get reasonable internet in the basement. Regardless - I frequently have to log-in to apps on my TV which I attribute to losing internet connection or poor internet connection. I want to upgrade to a mesh system and am looking at the ASUS Zenwifi AX system.
My questions are whether this system will be compatible with my current xfinity set-up. Thank you.

The question would be whether or not the 2482 and the Asus Zen system are compatible with each other. The answer would be yes. Comcast is not involved here. You would put the 2482 into bridge mode so that it acts only as a straight cable modem. Connect the Zen system router to it with an Ethernet cable and let it handle the WiFi / routing functions. And the main Zen router will talk to any of the mesh satellite units.
Just be advised that the Zen system is capable of providing faster speeds than the 2482 may be able to deliver to it. Any bottleneck would be the 2482's fault.
