Can I get a regular (non-EMTA modem) if I have voice? Can I use two modems?

I currently have a Triple Play and own an old Arris EMTA modem with speeds only up to 286 Mbps.  I would like to upgrade the modem, but options are limited and much more expensive for EMTA modems.  I read somewhere where it is possible to use two modems: a new regular modem provisioned for internet only and keep current modem to have it provisioned for voice only.  Can someone from Xfinity confirm that this is true?

Hello @D-man! Thank you for reaching out on our forum. In some areas we do allow two modems to be on the account (one for internet, one for phone). When it comes to the Comcast modems there can only be one modem on the account. If you wanted a 2nd rented modem there would be another charge for internet services.

@XfinityJennifer Thank you for the info. Can I send you (or someone) a private message to see if that is allowed in my area?

Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? Our team can most definitely take a further look at this issue.

To send a "Direct Message" to Xfinity Support:

Click "Sign In" if necessary

Click the "Direct Messaging" icon or  https://comca.st/3EqVMu7

Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

The "To:" line prompts you to "Type the name of a person". Instead, type "Xfinity Support" there

 - As you are typing a drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list

 - An "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

Press Enter to send it

See  https://comca.st/3KQF8q9 for an example.

I no longer work for Comcast.
