"As long as you're getting 800mb, that's good enough"

Last several weeks we've been dealing with slow internet speeds...300+ or so (out of the 1200 we pay for).  Lowest was 248.

Spoke with a rep today where we asked for a tech to come out and see what's up...

Rep said that...if we are getting at least 800mb...that's good enough lol that's 66% drop from 1200. I wonder if Xfinity would be okay with us paying 66% of our bill? What about if we were getting the 1200 and still wanted to pay 66%....would that be good enough? I know it won't always be 1200...but it has been 300-400 for weeks now...not even that 800. Then telling a customer that... Man...can't wait for Google Fiber to be available here.

I was told that I need to have an 800 Mbps plan in order to run more than 6-7 IOT devices. To be clear I have a 100 Mbps plan running 30 IOT devices. Most of the devices work fine, a few are sluggish with an increased distance on the 2.4Ghz band. I am against band steering, besides some devices won't work at all when merging the 5Ghz and 2.4Ghz band. I live in a small mobile home, so it's not like I need coverage for a mansion. I believe the agent was simply trying to upsell me on a more expensive plan. Speed test websites indicate that 100 Mbps is more than sufficient to run multiple devices. I just need some clarification.

@BrianUbee thanks for sharing your feedback and honestly kind of surprised to hear you are getting great results with that many devices on your plan. What clarification are you looking for?
