Amazon Echo will not connect to wifi

I have done everything that I can to attempt to connect my Amazon Echo to wifi.

When I manually go to set up it all of the available WIFI networks near me come up but mine will not appear. I manually try to add it with no luck.

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Hello, @nneubia1! Thanks for reaching out about connecting the WiFi to your Amazon Echo device. Are you seeing your WiFi network name show up on other devices? When you try to connect manually do you get an error message that comes up?

My WiFi name isn’t showing up but other nearby WiFi’s are.

I want to make sure I am understanding so I can best help, @nneubia1. I understand that the WiFi name is not showing up on the Echo. Is it showing up on other devices if you check or do you not see it there either? That helps me to dive further into what could be causing this.

@XfinityRay yes my wifi still comes up on my TV, my laptop, my phone and my watch. However, for some reason it won’t show up for my Echo Dot.

Thank you so much for the response @nneubia1 and for bringing this ti our attention. Have you gone to the device settings and made sure it is up-to-date or tried resetting to factory settings? At times doing this can make sure you have the latest version to connect to our Wifi!

Well, sorry to hear that, @nneubia1! Let's see what else we can do to troubleshooting your connection on that device. Could you please send our team a direct message?

To send a direct message:

  • Ensure you are first signed in, then you will see a chat box icon at the top right of your page. Click that or follow this link here: https://forums.xfinity.com/direct-messaging
  • From there, click the 'New Message' icon. In the 'To' field, type 'Xfinity Support'.
  • Type your message in the text area that appears at the bottom of the window and hit enter to send. An official employee, such as myself or whoever is first available, will respond.

To expedite your request, we ask that you please include your name and the service address alongside a detailed summary of your request/question. Thank you!

I am having a similar issue,  and am searching the internet.   This seems to be an issue with the xfinity router.   I see lots of people posting similar problems in these forums dating back two years.   but no solutions.    Mostly people claiming to be xfinity customer telling people to contact them directly.

WHY NOT POST WHAT THE SOLUTION WAS SO EVERY ONE ELSE CAN BENIFIT!?!?!?!

Or,  can it not be fixed,  and you do not want people to know?

I have had xfinity for less then a week,   and I am *not* impressed.

bottom line ,  as far as I can tell at least for me,   the xfinity router does not let my amazon echo show or echo dot,  connect to their network,  telling the device it is using an incorrect password  EVEN WHEN THE PASSWORD IS CORRECT.
