Alexa not connecting to xfinity internet

I recently purchase a amazon echo dot for my place and some reason the Xfinity WIFI well not connect to it. I tried using my hotpot on my phone to complete the setup but after switching it back to my Xfinity WIFI it would not work. Am confused here. Do I need to call Xfinity to change my Xfinity Router. The have the XB7 Router. What are my options here?

Thanks for confirming! How far is your Amazon Dot from the router? Have you tried any troubleshooting with Amazon regarding the device?
