Activating Cable Outlet in Apartment

Hi,

I recently moved into a new apartment and only one of the three cable outlets in the unit is responsive when I plug my Xfinity Gateway into it, but most of my tech is set up in a different room. After consulting with my apartment complex, I was told that Xfinity would need to send somebody out to activate the cable outlet. I've tried using the Xfinity Assistant to set up a technician visit, but it won't give me the option, stating that it has verified my service is working great.

Ultimately, that's not the case. Since my Xfinity Gateway is located multiple rooms away, my desktop computer and PlayStation 5 struggle to run any games. Additionally, it struggles to run multiple programs at once, despite paying for a high-quality service. Instead of great connection to these devices, the connection is poor.

Hi @seanb2! Thank you for visiting our official Xfinity Forums Community support page. We greatly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience regarding the inactive cable outlet. I would be more than happy to offer my assistance looking into this further for you.
We can get an appointment set up to have the outlet activated. Could you please send our team a direct message with your full name and full address? Our team can most definitely take a further look at this issue. To send a "Direct Message":
Click "Sign In" if necessary
• Click the "Direct Message chat" icon
• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
• Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line
• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window
