2nd IP address for CPE with Arris TM822

@ComcastMichael

I am a loyal Comcast customer for over 9 years and I have been trying to get a 2nd IP address so that I can segment my kids home schooling and my work.

 Several times I called the technical support team and no one knows / understand how I can get the 2nd IP address. I was transferred to business team, residential, etc. No resolution yet.

 I was going through these thread and I saw a response from ComcastMichael on this particular issue. He was able to assist the customer with this request and resolved the issue. See below link for the response.

 Could you please help me with my request or let me know what I should do to get the 2nd IP address. Thank you.

FYI, you could only use a second public WAN IP address with that modem if you hang a multiport ethernet switch directly off of it. It only has one built-in port.

Let me know if you are still interested and I will escalate this up to an employee.

Thank you for the reply.

Yes, "you could only use a second public WAN IP address with that modem if you hang a multiport ethernet switch directly off of it."  That is exactly what I wanted to do. Connect Arris TM822 to a  GigE switch and my wireless router.

I hope someone from Comcast can assist me with that. Like I mentioned in the below link,  ComcastMichael helped setting this up with another customer.

They are phasing it out but I'm going to escalate your issue to the Comcast corporate employees that are available to these boards. We've seen cases here where they have been able to get this accomplished for customers even when it is not listed in their rate cards, YMMV. You should get a reply here in your topic. Good luck !
