@XfinityJoe

I am done with Xfinity and its support service. A good example is it took you several days just to post a reply with no solution whatsoever. You are suppose to be the guru and tech support . I have read comments and suggestions of your coworker. None works such as splitting the signals assign different names, using the same password, etc. All hog wash, seriouesly.  The issue is your so called Intelligent XB8 or XB7 made by Technicolor just doesn't work with older Technology 2.4GHZ. But the XB7 made by Arris  does sees the 2.4Ghz devices and connects them. You would think both manufacturers use the same standard yet one works and the other doesn't  . For the time being after having talked with several live Techsupport from USA, to Philipines to South America, finally I got hold of older XB& made by Arris and my problem is solved for the time being. In general Xfinity  Tech support specially the chat guys leaves alot to be desired.  Xfinity Internet service as a whole [Edited: "Language"] as  the modem pauses then starts from time to time.  As soon as I find a different service provider I will cancel. I don't care how many Terabhyte you claim you are faster. It doesn't do me any good if not all my devices can connect.

Hello Customer expert. I replied to the guy from Xfinity.  Basically their Modem made by Technicolor be it XB8 or XB7 doesn't work 2.4Ghz devices.

But their XB7 manufactured by Arris. works well with both 2.4Ghz as well as 5G.   My Gps now works well.   These so called Tech Support dont know what the issue is.  Splitting the stream as they suggest may be something for their antique modems . The new ones is suppose to see what device is trying to connect and hook up with it.   When I was trying to connect my 2.4Ghz GPS it wouldn't even see their XB8 at all. Even when I manually entered the name of SSID.   I am by no means an expert on Internet at all. All I know is the [Edited: "Language"] I went through talking to these Xfinity people or chatting on line.  Spent more than 36 hours collectively, had two technician come to the house to no avail.    Now I was told by one Technician If I get an older technology router, just router and no modem connect it to the Xfinity modem, it may then be able to operate on 2.4Ghz devices.  I didn't have time to test that theory. Just called and asked for their XB7 made by Arris not Technicolor and it worked.  In fact If I decide to keep Xfinity, I plan to purchase my own modem compatible with their system and see if that makes any difference. When you call their Tech support they tell you don't use default name for their modem or the default password. But I have used it in the past and no issue. What they says just simply doesn't make sense.     Thank you for reaching out to me.
