X1 TV box (model Xi6-A) drops streaming connection, shows RDK error

This problem just started a couple of months ago, been running the same equipment for years with no issues. But now when streaming movies on Netflix or Prime, a RDK message will pop up on the screen about 'Lost connection'. I got the new XB7 gateway delivered and hooked it up hoping that would fix the problem, it did not. If I run an ethernet cable from the XB7 gateway to the actual X1 TV box, everything works fine, no 'lost connection' errors. So, it would seem the problem is the X1 box being able to handle the WiFi data coming from the gateway. This needs to get fixed. I do not want to run an ethernet cable to the X1 box, the WiFi needs to work. As stated before, this was never a problem until a couple of months ago, nothing in my house or setup has changed. Did a Xfinity update cause this problem? Is there a newer X1 TV box I can get that will work better?
