Update Now

This message keeps popping up on my list of channels.  I have clicked on it three times and it just loads the channels.  What am I updating?

If your TV set is a "smart" set, the update messages may be coming from the TV. Check your TV's owner's guide for information. If you don't have it, post the set model number and we'll try to find it.

For many smart televisions (I have Samsung) if the "update" message shows up, just clicking ok (select) button on the television's remote will activate the update process on the telvision.

No, my question must have been misunderstood.  I watch TV channels on my computer.  I chose my station from the list of channels that comes up when I click the link at the top.  I am not watching on a TV, smart or dumb!  This Update message box appears sporadically.  When I click on Update Now, nothing happens.  I'm just going to forget about it.  Thanks everyone for your answers.

ME TOO!  Chronic "Update Available" Pop-Up

I have same experience.  Windows / Chrome.  If I leave a tab open to the Xfinty Stream Live TV Channel Guide but don't touch it for some (not consistent length of) time, the "Update Available" Pop-Up box appears.  The only available button is [Update Now].  Click; blanks the display and connects me to my "experience".    If I click behind the Pop-Up, the top line of the Channel Guide displays "Update Available".

Noticed this started maybe a week or 10 days ago.

I'm glad I'm not crazy since it happens to you.  I was on the phone with Comcast yesterday about another matter (links in my e-mail wouldn't work) and she directed through various steps on Chrome and fixed it.  She said sometimes when Chrome updates, it sends things back to default.   That worked and I thought maybe that was the cause of Update Available.  Not so.  It happened again.  I don't have time to worry about it so I plan to ignore it.

This has been happening since at least August. See https://forums.xfinity.com/t5/XFINITY-Stream-Website/Update-Available/m-p/3124908#M79010, especially ComcastJessie's "explanation".

But just what did you update? Edge? Chrome? Windows? Comcast's Stream website? "Updated mine using Edge" doesn't tell us very much.

Sorry; I meant I was prompted to update mine while using the service with Edge (title of the topic).

So you clicked on an "Update" prompt without knowing what the update was for or what it would do? Doesn't that seem risky?

Clicking on popups you don't know the source or purpose of is nothing to LOL about. It's asking for trouble.

I agree with Bruce. Any updating whether computers, smart televisions, etc., all have a regular way to go to the update menu for proper updating. With all the different ways used to enable hacking of our devices at the present time, it is better to delete and ignore anything unexpected.

No.  None of the replies solved my problem.  I have uninstalled YouCam6.  I hope it works.  You can remove my request for a solution.
