Streaming on fire stick only showing default channels. On the home network.

I’d put this in your post:

Xfinity Stream on Fire TV is authenticating my Xfinity ID, but it is only showing the free streaming channels. I am an Xfinity TV subscriber and my paid TV lineup and premium channels are missing. This happens on a brand-new Fire TV Stick 4K. Please check my TV entitlements, Fire TV authorization, and in-home network recognition and escalate this to the Xfinity Stream team.

Hi there. If the Xfinity Stream app accepts your Xfinity ID but only displays free channels, it may not be recognizing your paid TV subscription or in-home network.

 

Please confirm the Fire TV Stick is connected to your private home WiFi network, not the public “xfinitywifi” network. Then sign out of the Stream app, clear its cache and data, restart the Fire TV Stick, and sign back in using the primary or manager Xfinity ID.

 

If your lineup is still missing, Please let us know, and we will be happy to assist further.

My fire stick is hooked up to my Xfinity X1 WiFi box. I signed off the Xfinity app and signed back on again using my iPad and the QR code to sign back in. Still only getting free channels. 


I don’t see anywhere on the Settings menu that shows that I’m signed on with my ID. [EDIT: PERSONAL INFO]

I appreciate any help

Hello govolsdwl You mentioned doing this on your iPad. Are you logging into the stream app on your fire stick?

I log on to the fire stick Xfinity stream app using the QR code provided by the app. Sign on appears to be successful, but I have limited channels available.

@govolsdwl do you have an active Xfinity TV channel package? Ensure you are signed in with your Xfinity credentials. Access the channels through the Live TV tab in the app. You can filter to see channels available out of home for easier navigation.

 

You mentioned having your Fire Stick plugged into your Xfinity X1 WiFi box. May I ask why rather than directly to your TV? The box should already provide your channels with no need of a 3rd party device or Stream App.

 

If you are referring to a Xumo Stream Box, it is designed to connect to any HDMI-compatible TV, and it primarily functions as a standalone streaming device with pre-loaded apps. Therefore, while it may be technically possible to connect a Firestick to the same TV, the Xumo Stream Box itself does not support using a Firestick directly with it. Has this worked in the past?

I’ve been a Comcast customer for over 25 years
i’m using my comcast.net user ID to sign on to the fire stick Xfinity streaming app. 

my fire stick is connected over Wi-Fi to the X1 box. The fire stick can easily connect to Netflix and YouTube over that Wi-Fi

no zumo 

PS this app was working fine two years ago. Before last football season something changed in the app did not work all season long. Now it acts like it’s working, but it does not give me my regular  channels. This app has been screwed up for me for two years and I understand it screwed up for others as well

after signing on? I get this basic home screen. And you can see the Settings menu. I can’t find anything identifying my sign on
