Rewind/pause live tv

I just recently moved and Xfinity was the tv service company available and I. SO unhappy! You can’t rewind and pause LIVE tv which is ridiculous . Also the storage capacity on the stream package is so LOW. I can’t believe only have about 10 shows recorded. For the high price I pay, I can’t believe this is what’s offered. I highly recommend you use a different service!

@user_er38ju You cannot pause or rewind using the Xfinity Stream app.

Here's a breakdown of the functionality:
Xfinity X1 TV Boxes (with DVR service):
  • You CAN pause and rewind live TV on X1 TV boxes, except for the RNG150 model.
  • The pause and rewind capability extends up to 60 minutes, as a running buffer, and the time shortens if you watch paused content and don't return to live programming.
Xfinity Stream App and Website:
  • You CANNOT pause and rewind live TV through the Xfinity Stream app or website.
  • This limitation applies to all devices using the Stream app (smart TVs, Roku, Fire Sticks, etc.).
Why the difference?
  • X1 TV boxes have built-in DVR functionality, allowing them to record live TV temporarily and enable pausing and rewinding.
  • The Xfinity Stream app streams content over the internet, and the infrastructure to store and buffer live TV in the cloud for all users is currently not in place.
In short:
  • If you want to pause and rewind live TV, you'll need an Xfinity X1 TV box with DVR service (excluding the RNG150 model).
  • The Xfinity Stream app and website do not support pausing and rewinding live TV.

If the problem (as some have posted) has to do with the SIM card inside the box, then it's an unbelievable coincidence that ALL of my boxes failed at the same time! Unplugging doesn't help.
This seems to be a universal problem, but every thread on the topic is Closed (and some threads even foster the LIE that the thread is closed because the problem is solved!).

@MargoRees You seem to have posted in the wrong thread? This topic is about using pause/rewind with live TV using the Stream app.
