Error tvapp-00209 after changing channel lineup

Recently had to make changes due to promotional ricing ended on my account.  After the change, the xFinity Stram app on my ipad no longer functions properly.  the app opens, but when I click on ANY channel I get error tvapp-00209.  Here are the steps I have done so far:

1. restarted the ipad

2. restarted the gateway

3. restarted x1 cable box

4. uninstalled and reinstalled the xfinity stream app on the ipad.

None of those steps has resolved the issue.

How do I get the app to work as it did before the changes to my plans?

Thanks!

NoNoBadPuppy Hmm, that is strange. Have you attempted to run a system of things?

You can do this using the Xfinity App or Website:
  • Go to the TV tile or select Fix an Issue under support.
  • Choose Troubleshoot and select System Refresh.

I am having the same issue only nothing has changed on my account. Very frustrating.  Makes me want to dump Xfinity - this isn't the first issue I've had trying to stream.

Thanks for the response.  That didn't work.  I spent about two hours on the phone with support, had them do multiple things, but was unable to resolve the issue.  Have a supervisor technician appointment on 10/10.  Hopefull will find some resolution when he/she arrives.  After the system changes, my WAN IP address is now 'located' in Detroit.  I live on the other side of the state, which is nearly 200 miles from my location.  I think that may be the issue, and my IP does not match my home address.

@XfinityTommy I will do this after the supervisor technician visit tomorrow.  I will wait until we see if he is able to repair the issues.  If not, I will DM you.  I have an open ticket already.

Had tech visit today, with no resolution.  X1 Cable box will not refresh, and checking status on the x1 says outage in my area, all services, even though they are all working.  Still cannot use xfinity stream on my ipad.   There is scheduled maintenance on the 12th in my area, and the tech and his supervisor both claim that the maintenance will fix the issues. The tech verified my signals are all as they should be. On the stream app, I can not stream any broadcast channel, but the TV Go and internet channels stream fine.  Tech ran full diagnostics on the X1 box, and it passed all test, hardware, software and connectivity.  The supervisor mentioned that there are 'many' who are experiencing the same issue.  It appears to be a problem on their back end, but no one as yet can figure it out.  I am hoping that they fix the problem with the maintenance, but if I wake up on the 13th and the issue persists, I will call them back and ask for escalation, and will post back if that turns out to be the case.

Well, the scheduled maintenance occurred last night, and nothing has changed.  I have uninstalled the xfinity stream app, shut down the ipad to clear the cache and remove any remnants of the app, turned on the ipad, reinstalled the app, and the issue still exists.  Where to go from here?

I will do that, but first I wanted to update here.  The scheduled maintenance was done overnight,  I first checked the status page to see if there were any issues, and there are nine in my area.  I rebooted the gateway and the X1 cable box.  Once everything was back online, I checked to see if the Xfinity Stream app would let me stream.  No change, still get the same error  TVAPP-00209 Something has gone wrong while trying to talk to our content access management system. Please try again.  I deleted the app from my ipad, rebooted the ipad, redownloaded and installed the app, but the error persists.  I did a System Refresh on the X1, something that it would not do before the scheduled maintenance,  I let the refresh complete, and repeated the remove/restart/reinstall procedure on the iPad.  Still no change, get the same error.

DM has been sent.  Given all the posts about folks having issues with Stream, I hope someone within your company can discover what is causing so many problems and fix it.  It is clear that the issue is not on the subscriber side, but is a systemic problem with the stream ecosystem.  The error states an issue with access to the content access management system.  Has anyone bothered to investigate that end?

The same thing has happened to me at around the same time. Nothing I did helps. What is the solution???

No solution so far.  I have had supervisor technician visits, spent hours online and on the phone, been escalated, worked with advanced technical support, etc.  The last thing I was told is that they are 'investigating' and to wait until they can figure out the problem. Looks like we will not have any resolution any time soon.  The number of subscribers that are having this issue is very large.

I keep getting emails asking me to select a 'best answer', but no such best answer has been given, as the issue is still ongoing.  I am working with agents over Direct Messaging, and have no resolution on that side as well.  I would like for this thread to remain open/active until such time as a solution is found, so that the fix can be shared with all in the community.
