closed caption on roku

I want to move to roku instead of a 14$ box. My dad is deaf and needs closed captions. Xfinity stream app is not showing captions even though it is turned on. Is this a known issue?

The program CC works fine on xfinity x1 but not on xfinity streaming.

Also:

On the Alexa Show 15, the captions lag terribly.

@user_1utjnz I definitely understand how important it is to get those closed captions working. Can you make sure that closed captions are also turned on in the Roku system settings, as well as the Stream app?

During Playback: Press the down arrow on the Roku remote, highlight the speech bubble/CC icon, and press OK.
Roku System Settings: Go to your Roku home screen, select Settings > Accessibility > Captions Mode to turn them on.

Yes, the roku was set for Closed Captions as well as the xfinity app.
