Audio drop

Still going on. Only on Xfinity stream app and apple devices especially apple tv4k. Any fix coming?

Hello @Viper122, thank you for taking the time to leave a post. I completely understand how frustrating it can be when the audio drops, 

especially right in the middle of your favorite movie. When that happens, does the sound stay off, or does it eventually come back on its own?

The audio cuts out when the program switches from one commercial to another and again when the show or movie comes back on, then it usually goes away until the next set of commercials begin. It also on occasion cuts out at random while watching a show. This is a known issue that is all over this forum and the internet going back years. They seem to fix it until it returns again. It is getting worse and more often again. Only happens on Xfinity stream on all my Apple devices at exactly the same time. Since there are different versions on different devices deleting and restarting the app is not a fix. All my devices are updated. 

Ipad version: 5.65.0 released Yesterday December 5, 2025

Iphone version: 7.24.0 released 2 months ago

Apple tv 4K version: 1.13.2 released December 2, 2025

This is happening on Live tv. All channels that I have been on. Even on the tvgo channels.

3 Apple TV 4K devices and 6 other Apple products, look at previous posts. Happens on all and worse tonight than ever.

Just an update, ticket was opened for this issue. Also, the audio drop is showing on the recordings as well.

Not happening on streaming channels (tvgo) and not on live sports events as of now.  A football game on last night was woking normally, no audio issues.

No audio drop on legacy channels that I can find either.  ABC, CBS, NBC. Most others channels are not so lucky.

Changed DNS and MTU settings on my router just to try something, and there was no change. Legacy channels are working and so are the tv go channels.

Worst channels: Freeform, TNT, ID, History. Discovery, SyFy, AMC, FX, Paramount, IFC, NatGeo,  not a complete list. They’re working on it they say, I say thanks for a wonderful holiday tv viewing experience Xfinity.

Cancelled tv service. Went to YouTube tv. All problems are solved. No audio issues. May check Xfinity stream again in the future. Kept internet.

@Viper122​ right there with you on the audio dropping out the last couple seconds of commercials, I also have issues with ESPN...only ESPN freezing up during live games, which is always....lol.

How is YouTube tv treating ya so far?

I'm have the same problem here on Apple TV 4K.  Used to happen, then app was fixed for maybe a year.  Now back again after an update.
