Always to "Settings"

Nuisance every time I use the app using any of my Firesticks.  I open the app on the Firestick, it shows the most recent, channels you may like, et cetera in the block style.  When you click left on the remote to show the menu of Live TV, Recorded Shows, Sports, Movies, whatever, the highlighted word ALWAYS defaults to the SETTINGS icon and word all the way at the bottom of the page.  So every time I want to select Live TV, or my recorded shows, or whatever, I have to scroll up to get to that choice. I certainly can do that, but it is such a pain to do (I know, 1st world problems).  I have tried clearing the cache, I even uninstalled then reinstalled the app, but the problem persists.  I would say it was maybe just that one Firestick, but it does it on every Firestick I have.  Anyone have suggestions?

Hi there, @user_768sju. Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Community Forum. Sorry to hear about the frustration. Has this been something that you have always experienced, or did it just start to become a problem recently?

It’s been going on for months, thank you for asking. It was not always this way when we switched over to Stream.

Got it, thanks, @user_768sju. Have you tried the stream app with one of your Firesticks on any other TV's or just the one?

It does it on at least 2 of my firesticks.  Does not seem to do it when going directly through the app downloaded on the tc (Samsung).

user_768sju, hm. That could be a software glitch, but I haven't heard of this being a mainstream issue. Have you deleted the application and redownloaded?

user_768sju, meaning that when you redownload the application and open it, sign into it and then load it, it starts with the the load of being on the settings icon?

Yes. Delete app, re-download, open the app, get to the main screen, click left to open the option menu listing all the options- sports, movies, live TV etc, and again automatically drops down to the bottom- the dreaded “settings”

user_768sju, ahh, I know that is very frustrating. We do not have any control over third-party applications, but I hoping this is something we can reprovision in hopes it'll resolve that default selection. I am happy to be of assistance. Can you please send us a DM? You can start by clicking the chat icon located in the top right corner of your forums' page when signed in. Once there, you can direct your messages to "Xfinity Support." Please add your full name and complete service address to help us locate your account. Let me know if you have any questions.

Yeah, no that's not a good option.  I will not waste any further time going thorough Xfinity "support".  No offense to you as you have been professional and supportive, but I can't tell you how many hours I have wasted trying to go through the Xfinity chat support for other simpler issues. It's completely useless and I won't waste any further time on that.

Has to be very frustrating, I did see that you said it works fine on your Samsung TV. Have you tried using the Xfinity Stream app on a Roku instead of Firestick? I use all Roku sticks in my home and I have no issues at all.
