Xfinity Streaming App Beta and favorite channels

For whatever reason our cable system has two each of the local broadcast channels, both identical.  When I select one to add to favorites the app adds both.  Deleting one deletes both.  So what should be four favorites (ABC, NBC, CBS and Fox) is actually eight.  I would like to have only the one I selected.

Hello @Bart1975! Thanks for reaching out to us here on the Xfinity Forums with your concerns.

I can definitely see where this feature may be a little frustrating, but it is considered to be working as intended. The additional "copies" of the channel that are being added are the other channels and tvgo options so that when you access your favorites, you can pick the channel you want based on the device/platform you are watching on since the favorites list is universal across your devices.

@XfinityTambrey There literally is no difference between the channels.  What is the purpose of having two identical channels on the same cable system?  I can understand having SD and HD but not two HD on the same system.

It should not be doubling up. I have all my locals as favorites in Beta and they show single. I see that sometimes happens when an area has multiple affiliates for a local station, but what we can do is put in a ticket using your account which can help highlight the issue and work on it if it is not supposed to do that. Can you send a peer-to-peer message with your name and address? You need to be signed in with your Xfinity credentials.

1. In the top right corner, you'll see a little chat icon near the bell icon. Click this "Peer to peer chat" icon near the bell icon

2. Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon

3. In the 'To' line, type "Xfinity Support" there. A drop-down list appears. Select "Xfinity Support" from that list (an "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line)

4. Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window

5. Press Enter to send it. An official employee, such as myself or whoever is first available, will respond. Thanks!
