xfinity Stream to AppleTV

I read in Dec 2021 that Brian Robert announced that Comcast and Apple made a deal to work together on some technologies.  View AppleTv shows thru x1 Box AND stream xFinity Stream App to AppleTv device.

Does anyone know when XFinity Stream to AppleTv device will be available.  I have an AppleTv device on one of my TVs and trying to avoid having to buy a Chromecast or Roku for that TV to stream Xfinity. Would prefer to use the AppleTv.

Apple TV+ is currently not available on X1, Flex or any Xfinity TV platforms. However, we’re working to bring Apple TV+ to X1 and Flex in the coming months. When the Apple TV+ app launches on X1 and Flex, you’ll be able to watch this programming on your TV by subscribing to Apple TV+.

@XfinityAlisha​ RIF (Reading Is Fundamental) - the poster was NOT asking when you would support AppleTV+ on your devices. They were asking when you would be bringing Xfinity Stream app to AppleTV as it is already available on other iOS devices.

How long does it take to make the Xfinity Stream App for Apple TV devices? It's already been in use on numerous other devices for some time. From a business standpoint, one would think that this would be a no-brainer for Comcast to just get it out there as a way of trying to retain TV subscribers from cord cutting. Maybe Apple can give Comcast a nudge to get it done since people are waiting to add this device to their ecosystem.

As of October 2021, if you do a Google search for "Xfinity Stream App Apple TV" you get article after article, stating that in October of 2021, the CEO during a conference call confirmed that the Xfinity Stream app is coming to the Apple TV (tvOS).  On a Reddit forum, someone said they had inside information that it was being released on January 10, 2022.

Can anyone confirm ANY of this?

Well Jan 10 came and went , no Xfinity Stream app.  Probably some just troll on Reddit spreading gossip about release date.

Hopefully soon… this is the one thing that really holds up friends of mine from switching.  Because right now it is only available on Roku and they absolutely refuse to use Roku due to their data sharing policies and they refuse to pay extra for more boxes so they just chose other providers.

I am ready to give up Sling Tv and switch to an Xfinity Tv bundle but I am not giving up my AppleTV for any kind of Xfinity box.....Bring the stream app to AppleTV

Although Apple TV doesn't currently support our Stream app, we have many different ways that you will be able to watch our Xfinity Stream app! Feel free to send our team a direct message with your full name and full address and we can look over some available packages! 

 

To send a "Peer to peer" ("Private") message:
Click "Sign In" if necessary
• Click the "Peer to peer chat" icon
• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon
• Type "Xfinity Support" in the "To:" line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list which appears. The "Xfinity Support" graphic replaces the "To:" line

It's not that Apple doesn't support it, it's that Xfinity won't launch the app.  Hopefully today's ATV+ on X1 announcement changes that. We don't want to use X1, we want the stream app on our ATV

Yes xfinity is being stupid [Edited: "Language"] for not letting its app on apple tv os. id even pay for the [Edited: "Language"] app. one time payment though. Im ready to cancell xfinity just because it doesnt work on apple. And come on apple get your stuff together to. If it’s available on my iPhone it should be on tv os to. Company lose millions over dum mistakes!!!!

If it's not out by summer, I will probably get a ROKU to I can use the app on my TV and return the cable box.  I'm tired of paying 10 bucks a month for a box that is laggy and full of bugs.  But I'm pretty sure it's coming, that's what everyone says anyways.

I need the Xfinity Stream app to be available on my AppleTV os. It is ridiculously frustrating that I can’t watch TV on my TV. I use my Apple TV for everything else but live TV. If this is the case I might as well switch back to YouTubeTV

Appreciate you taking the time to reach out. Our Xfinity Stream app is unfortunately not available for the Apple TV device. We have established the Apple TV+ service that can be accessed via the X1 system and on Xfinity Flex to see their amazing assortment of programing. I wish that we did have a solution to view the content from the Apple TV directly but right now we do not have any exiting plans to roll that out in the near future.

I'm an Xfinity customer that streams all my content through my AppleTV4K and I have an X1 and Flex basically collecting dust just to hold my cable package to unlock channels through streaming apps and such.  I'm patiently waiting for the Xfinity Stream app to be available on my AppleTV4k as has been promised by Brian Robert in October 2021 so that I can return these boxes that are useless and am paying for, but I "HAVE TO HAVE".  Super frustrating and not customer focused just because I don't want to use your inferior Hardware and Software.  Love your Internet and Mobile in my area, but this third area of your products have been a horrible experience.

Xfinity should be ashamed of the way they have handled (or bungled) this.  The conflicting responses here pretty much sum up that they are milking the profits from set top box fees as long as they can get away with it.  If their development team takes this long to develop a simple app, the entire department should be fired. It doesn’t and Xfinity is not being honest with its customers.

The name Comcast may have changed to Xfinity (Due to a very negative reputation) but it would appear that the way they operate hasn't. For over a Year we've been waiting for the Xfinity (Comcast) streaming app to come to the AppleTV with even the CEO of XFINITY stating it was going to be released months ago. There are no more excused Xfinity, none.  All other providers that compete with you have apps such as Cox, Spectrum, Astound, etc. When will yours be out???!!??

Hey @WorstNightmare1, thank you for reaching out to Xfinity Support on our forums. We apologize for your experience. Xfinity did launch the Apple TV app as mentioned in that statement. It is also mentioned the Stream app would be going to launch later this year. There isn't an official launched date as of yet but will be a announcement when that time comes.
