Trying to cast from my iPhone to my tv, My app says casting to my device, and my device or tv says Xfinity stream ready to cast, but nothing happens.  All other apps work fine.

I'm having the same problem and tried all of the above trouble shooting steps, to no avail. Samsung Smart TV, but no "Cast" app per

user_fcc181. Any other ideas by anyone else? Thanks for your help. DAM

I have the same issue as well. It started happening yesterday 10/8 and is still the same issue today! I have tried almost everything...

  • Power cycle modem
  • Power cycle TV
  • I even reset my TV settings...
  • tried on another network

All other apps (youtube, netflix, twitch, etc..) work perfectly except Xfinity Stream! I am thinking they rolled out an update that inexpectedly caused this to happen.

When will there be a fix for this?!?!

Edit: My tv is a vizio tv

Not sure if what I did fixed it but....

I restarted my chromecast (went to my account in top right hand corner, settings, then restart). I also uninstalled then reinstalled the Xfinity app on my iPhone. I had to log back in. It did the "ready to cast" thing at first but then I tried again and it worked.

@user_3670f2 did you restart or factory reset your Chromecast? I tried deleting and reinstalling the stream app but didn't work for my Chromecast

@user_fcc181 is on to

something. It worked for me. Went into tv settings, clear data for casting or screen sharing. Restart tv.

Hmmm. Tried everything but still no luck. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling app. Nothing. I don’t see in my Samsung TV that I can “clear data for casting or screen sharing.” Any ideas?

Same problem here, I uninstalled the app reinstalled, tried everything i could think of, but my tv is a bit older there is no option for selecting apps. the only option was factory reset.

Still no work

Hi, @user_ab601d. Are you saying you factory reset Chromecast and reset any settings related on your TV? This is a known issue and we are working on a permanent fix. I don't see a known workaround or ETA, but I can keep an eye on it and follow up here.

I no longer work for Comcast.

I did all of the step and reinstalled the apps on all of the devices and tried to clear the data from Chromecast and restart it and the only thing that worked was doing the factory reset for the Chromecast.  Spent too much time but something with the Xfinity stream app stopped it from casting.

Did the factory resetting of the Chromecast work then? Hmmm. I just removed and reinstalled Chromecast, but that didn't work. I guess I'll try factory resetting the Chromecast now. DAM

Welcome to our community forum, @user_3b6760! You've reached the perfect place to get help with anything regarding your Xfinity service. I use the streaming app every day so I'd be upset if it wasn't working. Are you noticing the same issue on another device or is it only affecting one? What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

Is there an expected timeline for the fix, so you can manage your expectations? Very frustrating.

This has only been an issue with the most recent update. Xfinity please fix this and put out a new update that actually works.

Same problem.  I can even adjust the volume on my device to the tv, but the show won't play (everything but xfinity works).  I did a factory reset of the tv (no luck), uninstalled and reinstalled the xfinity app (no luck).  I give up.  I can't for the life of me find where everyone is clearing their cache.  I have looked EVERYWHERE in the settings on my tv for that section with no luck.  Xfinity please fix this!  The problem started when we lost service for a night a few nights ago.

Why isn’t xfinity addressing this issue? At least tell us there is a problem and they are working on it!

I don’t think they have an answer to give us. I just had a Xfinity technician come out to my house today & he couldn’t fix the issue, the guy was clueless.
