user_xn9cvd Hello and thank you for reaching out via our Xfinity Community Forums. I can absolutely understand your frustration with the Xfinity Stream app! Three hours of troubleshooting, especially after a two-hour wait, is definitely way too long, and I'm so sorry you've had to deal with that. It sounds incredibly time-consuming and stressful, and I appreciate you taking the time to explain what's happening. I see you've already done a lot of troubleshooting, including uninstalling, reinstalling, rebooting, and reinstalling again – you've really gone above and beyond! It's completely understandable that you're at your wit's end.

I also noted that you're using an iPhone 12 Pro Max with iOS 18.3. You mentioned that iOS 18.3 is intended for iPhones 15 & 16, and that's a good point. While iOS updates should be backward compatible, sometimes unexpected issues can arise. To help me understand the situation better and figure out the best way to assist you, could you tell me a little more about what's happening with the app? For example:

  • Are you getting any specific error messages?
  • Is the app crashing, freezing, or just not loading content properly?
  • Does the issue happen with all channels or just certain ones?
  • Have you noticed the problem since a particular date or event (like the iOS update)?

The more details you can provide, the better equipped I'll be to find a solution for you. I want to get this fixed for you as quickly as possible, so please don't hesitate to share anything you think might be relevant. I'm here to help!

Hi Christy,

Thanks, yes, the xfinity stream app does not load. It goes straight to the original Xfinity app, (account functions, etc.)

However, it works on my wife’s iPhone 16.

That’s all there is. That’s it. It’s been happening since the 18.3 update.

Xfinity Stream app needs to be repaired. You can’t expect Apple to reconfigure their entire system for any Cable company’s single app.

user_xn9cvd Thank you so much for those details. The Xfinity Stream app would only access the Xfinity.com site if there was an issue directing the authorization/login for the device. I have encountered issues with pages not loading if not connected to my home network that when tapped will launch the Xfinity home page. If you launch the Xfinity Steam app and the Xfinity app to manage your account pops up there may be something in your device that is autoloading. Apple devices like to hold on to what you have already done to make using the phone easier but that can cause issues as well. I would recommend starting with closing all your open browser windows on your iPhone 12. Once they are closed clear the app and your browser, so there is no stored connection between the apps. Clear the cache for an app

Open Settings
Scroll to Apps
Find the app you want to clear
Tap the app
Look for Clear Cache or Clear History and Website Data
If the toggle is green, tap it to clear the cache

Clear the browser cache
Open Settings
Tap Safari
Scroll to the bottom of the screen
Tap Clear Cookies and Data or Clear Cookies and Clear Cache
Confirm when prompted

Once that is done try to pull up the Xfinity stream app when connected to your home wifi you may need to check that your Wifi Assist is turned off as well to make sure you stay connected to your home wifi when you should be.

I already figured this out, on accident. I put an entry post about this and how I discovered the solution, simply by allowing it to text me a security code which I entered and then, “poof “the Xfinity stream app worked.
every time I login to anything with Xfinity it tells me I have a new login on the site, which is not true. I’ve had this phone for a year and I’ve been in there many times, so it’s not new yet it tells me it is. So it’s not recognizing it.

even when I put my username and password to login it just opened directly up into the regular XFinity app and until I had it send me a text code instead!

it worked.
