Xfinity Stream App Intermittent pausing on Android Tablets.
I have an issue which seems to be unique to Android tablets.
We use an Android tablet to stream CNN, MSNBC, local channels all day, about 8 hours. We don't have a lot of problems with that, except for one. Not always, but at certain times during the day (and not at the same time, necessarily, every day), the TV stream pauses for anywhere from 10 seconds to 60 seconds and then resumes back into the stream - not from where it paused but from where the stream is currently. This will happen in bursts over a few minutes to 30 minutes and then not again, maybe, for hours.
I have done a lot of testing and have determined that it is most likely the stream being sent to the tablets themselves.
1. The first test is with another Android tablet. Side-by-side. On the same wireless network. Both paused at exactly the same place in the stream. In fact, when one of the streams was lagging the other, the lagging tablet would continue until it reached the exact place where the other tablet just paused and then pause itself.
2. A laptop streaming through the chrome browser. Side-by-side with the tablet. Same wireless network. No pausing at all. At any time. Ever.
3. A cell phone streaming through the Xfinity App on the phone. Side-by-side with the tablet. Same wireless network. No pausing at all. At any time. Ever.
One of the differences that I noticed between the cell phone XFinity Streaming App and the tablet's Xfinity Streaming App was that the cell phone had TVGO under all of the channel names, whereas the XFinity Streaming App on the tablet had the cable channel numbers under the channel names. For example, in our market, CNN is 842. In the Tablet's XFinity Streaming App, 842 was underneath CNN on the list of TV Channels. In the cell phone, it was TVGO.
I have uninstalled and re-installed the app. I have cleared the cache. I have rebuilt the Dalvik cache on the device.
I have tried to stream XFinity through the chrome browser on the tablet, but it won't work. Says I need to use the XFinity Streaming App. If I use desktop mode, to fool the website into thinking it is a desktop rather than a mobile device, it says that I must upgrade the browser version to stream.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
I believe this is an XFinity streaming issue and would like to see it resolved.

@techdog0. Thanks for letting us know about your stream issue. What model tablet do you have? Both tablets are the same model?

I have the EXACT same problem as described above and I have had it for many months now. In fact, I purchased a new Samsung S7 tablet thinking that it was my older Samsung tablet causing the problem and I have the same problem. I have performed all of the remedial tasks as described above - I have forced stop, cleared the data, cleared the cache, deinstalled and reinstalled the app, rebooted the tablet. We did a side by side comparison between my wife's new Apple iPad and my new Samsung Android tablet and my Samsung pauses all the time and hers never pauses. We have placed my Samsung right next to the Xfinity router and I still have the same problem of pausing all the time. These problems are effectively making the Stream application useless and I would like a specific fix recommended to what is a really annoying problem. Thank you.
