Xfinity app on Insignia TV

Why do I keep getting a message that I have to connect to my home wifi to watch some live TV?   Is this an issue with Xfinity? I have another wifi provider.

To stream some live TV content, including local channels, networks often require that your device be connected to your Xfinity home WiFi network. This ensures that the service is being accessed within your subscription area.

 

Since you’re using another WiFi provider, the system may not recognize your device as being connected to your home network, which can limit access to some live content. However, you should still be able to stream On Demand programming and many live channels through the Xfinity Stream app when connected to any WiFi network.

 

If you’d like full access to your live TV lineup from any location, consider enabling the Xfinity Stream app while connected to your home WiFi first. This allows the app to verify your subscription. Once verified, you can try accessing live TV again from other WiFi networks or via mobile data.
