Record button DISAPPEARED on Roku app

So I called the billing dept about being overcharged for my new contract and somehow in order to initiate my new contract, they had to reset the rented modem. Now I have no record button on my Roku & after waiting almost 48 hrs for a third tier tack to call me back & 90 minutes on the phone the tech can't tell me why I don't have a record button but tells me I can download tv shows. Well, how can I download the TV shows if they haven't been recorded? Anyone know what the problem is that the record button disappeared.?

are you able to play live tv? on the guide select a program (hit OK button) at the bottom where the listing information appears, what choices do you see? (I see watch record series-info)
