Error Messages TVAPP-00203 and TVAPP-00249

I am using Xfinity Steam on my Windows 11 computer on a wifi network away from my homeaccount. For some reason when I go to the ABC channel, I get the Error Subscription Required TVAPP-00203. Not sure why I am getting this since I am subscribed. I have already tried clearing the cache and cookies and logging back in.

When I do the same thing on the xfinity Stream app on my iphone, I get a "Playback Issue" error TVAPP-00249.  I've signed out and back in, deleted and reinstalled the app, shut down and restarted the phone, none of which helped.

Until 5 or 6 days ago, these problems were not occuring - I was able to watch the local ABC affilitate when away from home on both my computer and my iphone.

Any solution?

Thanks for laying out all those details — that’s super helpful, and we know how frustrating it is when something that was working suddenly stops, especially when you're traveling or away from home.

The error you’re seeing on your computer (TVAPP-00203) typically pops up when the Stream portal doesn’t recognize the connection as being authorized for the channel — in this case, likely because you're outside your home network. Even though you're subscribed, some local broadcast channels (like ABC) are restricted due to licensing agreements and may not be available when you're on a different WiFi network.

That could also be related to the issue on your iPhone with error TVAPP-00249. You've already done all the right steps — clearing cache, signing out/in, reinstalling, etc. Since this started 5–6 days ago, it's possible there’s a temporary content rights restriction or a recent update that affected access when streaming away from home.

It looks like you have already sent us a message prior to posting. We will respond there shortly, so we can look into this further. Thanks!
