download purchased on-demand movies

Hello, So I'm trying to understand what I can and cannot do with on-demand movies I purchase. Currently I have about 20 movies on the Xfinity DVR. If I understand correctly I can download a movie to a mobile device thru the streaming app but this will lock the movie on the DVR so it can not be viewed thru the DVR again until I "return/check-in" the movie on the mobile device. Is this correct? What I was hoping to be able to do is download a digital copy of the movie to an external hard drive for my personal library. If it has to be deleted from the DVR so no more than 1 copy is floating around, so be it. Thanks for any comments
