When will Xfinity Mobile support basic GPS?

Hi, I recently transferred phone service from Consumer Cellular to Xfinity Mobile and ever since, GPS has been nonexistent on my Apple iPhone 8+. The Global Positioning System service worked perfectly on CC but has never worked with Xfinity.

No settings had been changed from the prior service. Since then, I have tried restarting the phone, turning off location services for Waze and maps and turning them back on again, changing the location service for these apps to Always On, closing and reopening the apps, and even letting the battery run out and recharging to full...

I've seen this other post and tried everything there and in the Apple Toolbox link, so I assume it's Xfinity.

How is your GPS Access supposed to work? Does it cost extra? I don't remember being asked if I wanted to upgrade to the GPS-enabled version of the service but I think I need to do that. Where do I go for that?

Hello SMattison79,

Thank you for taking the time to post on the Xfinity Forum.  I’m happy to provide further direction.

Have you already reset your network settings on your device?  You can do so by going into settings, general, reset, then select reset network settings.  If you are still experiencing a lack of connectivity after resetting the network, it may be necessary to do a factory reset of the device.

In order to do a factory reset, you’ll need to be in the same settings location mentioned above, but you’ll want to select erase all content and settings.  If you do a factory reset, please make sure to back up the device contents first.

Furthermore, make sure that under settings, privacy, location services, that you have 'allow location access' set to either 'always' or 'while using the app'.

Let me know what result you get.
