Unlocking my iPhone

I updated my iPhone 11 and I've already paid the phone. The person at the xfinity store told me that my phone would be unlocked in 24 hours after paying, but my phone is still locked, I went to the store and the gave me a number then I called and they put me on hold for more than 100 minutes. I call costumer services and they were very rude, telling me if I want to unlock my phone I shall wait for more than 2 hours and that if I don't want to wait I won't be able to unlock it. 2 HOURS WAITING

!!! GIVE ME A BREAK!!!!! Well I called again, spend more than 2 hours on hold and still nothing
Is there any way to unlock my phone that doesn't include being abused like this????
Actually is my phone, I paid for it.

I always have great luck with the chat feature to unlock my phones.  Log into your XfinityMobile account and go to the Xfinity Assistant.   Just put in unlock phone and the robot will give you options.  Then put in agent and there should be an option to connect to a live chat agent.  A few weeks ago, it took about 10 minutes on chat and my iPhone was unlocked.

When I tried and used "unlock phone" or "unlock iPhone" as the key word, the robot did not give me any option to do that. Is there a phone number that I could reach the live agent to unlock the iPhone I bought from them? Thanks.

I too am interested in this as I am about to updgrade my phone but am curious about the process.  Can you unlock your phone now while it is still active, or is that done after it is inactivated?  And once it is unlocked, does the person who buys it from you need to do anything?  Do they need a code or anything, or does it stay unlocked?

You should unlock your iPhone while it is still active.  Once the iPhone is unlocked it will stay unlocked and you do not have to do anything if it is sold.  It will state under Settings, General, About  and under Carrier Lock "No SIM restrictions" when it is unlocked.

It doesn't look like the unlock is on the chat menu anymore but if you type in "Agent" and then "Devices", you should get to a live chat agent quickly who will be able to help you with an unlock request.

Thanks. I just used agent as the keyword to chat with an agent. After simple verification, it then got transferred to another agent to do the unlock. Another agent verified my name, address, phone number and last 4 digitgs of the card paying the bill. Then the agent said it is successfully unlcoked although it might take up to 24 hours for Apple to process it. Now the carrier lock has No SIM Restrictions. Could I now swap out the current Xfinity mobile physical SIM with another carrier's physical SIM to test it?

Hi  @agoonee, thank you for reaching out to us on our forums. Please contact Xfinity customer care as when your phone is unlocked a 6 digit pin is given. You would provide that pin to the new provider showing the phone is unlocked.

I was not told to need a 6-digit PIN for new provider. BTW, I am not switching to new provider. Instead I will be using two SIMs and Xfinity mobile is still one of them (since iPhone 12 has dual SIMs).

Yes, removing your Xfinity SIM and trying another Cell provider SIM would also verify that your iPhone is unlocked.  The only PIN numbers I know about are for unlocking Android based phones.

Is it common that Xfinity automatically unlocks your phone?  I chatted with someone earlier and they said my phone is already unlocked (I have Android), but I never receieved a pin or had to do anything.  How can I verify it is actually unlocked?

I haven't heard of Xfinity proactively unlocking phones.  The easist way to find out if it is unlocked is to insert another provider SIM card and see if it works.
