Google Voice

A few months ago my husband switched us to Xfinity Mobile. I didn't have a number to transfer (long story) so at the Xfinity store, they  gave me a # out of our area code. Can I port my Google Voice # which is in our area code to Xfinity Mobile even though I already have a number?

 Thanks for the reply ... very helpful. But don't stop believing in miracles. I asked my husband to go to the Xfinity store to deal with it but he wanted to call one more time to try to get me an area code where we live (even though we tried twice at the store and once by phone.) He says he got a woman in India to whom he relayed the entire long story. And low and behold she got me an area code that matches our landline (Xfinity Voice.) Finally I can use my mobile and give out the number.
