Xfinity changed my plan without my persmission and said I was stuck with it
had just renegotiated my bill when it was up for renewal before the rate went up when I noticed the bill was higher than what the rate was promised me. I called customer service and it said because the bill had already been issued before my new agreement wanted into activation, but my next bill would be for the difference so it would be significantly lower. Several hours later that same day I get an email stating my upgrade order was approved. It was three times what my rate was supposed to be.. when I was killing time at my gym waiting for my aerobics class to start. I called customer service and tried to explain. I didn’t order any upgrade, but the Indian agent who could barely speak English, kept saying we’re showing an order for an upgrade. I had to hang up because my class was about to start on class and that I called customer service again and I explained very clearly to the agent. All I did earlier in the day was called about billing query and said I did not order any upgrade. The agent said I would have to speak to a manager and while we’re waiting, he kept saying I’ll report your concern. Excuse me it was not a concern. It was a complaint. My bill had been upgraded without my permission. That’s not a concern, but he kept saying your concern. Finally, after half an hour of waiting for a manager I tried to explain the manager. All I did was call to reference a bill and then I see this upgrade for three times on a rate and he kept interrupting me saying I’m showing an automated order in your notes and I told him I didn’t order that. I haven’t even logged into the website today, but he’s kept interrupting me pretty much calling me a liar saying I’m showing an automated order. He also said they can’t go back to my original plan even though it only been a few hours when they’re supposed order was put through He even threatened to hang up on me when I was getting agitated.. so finally, I was like fine I’m canceling and he had the nerve to act shocked. When I got through the cancel agent, she asked why and I said because my plans have been upgraded without my permission and they said I can’t go back to my original plan even though it’s only been a few hours. She in advertently admitted yeah I saw you didn’t approve this upgrade, but I can’t go back to your old rate. The best I can do is double with what you were paying. I told her I can get AT&T or T-Mobile for way less so she put my planning cancellation. This whole experience ticked me off so much I googled it and one of the AI suggestions was file and FCC complaint. The following morning I did and later that afternoon an American representative called me. I explained exactly what happened and she said that did seem shady. I already told her my cancellation was in progress and it already picked up equipment from T-Mobile that afternoon. She told me she would do an investigation and I told her that rude manager I talked to that night owed me a personal apology. A little over a week later on Christmas Eve actually, she calls me and says yes this order was placed without your permission. All you did was call customer service to inquire about your bill. So somehow that agent I talked to my bill took that to me. I wanted to upgrade the three times what I was saying.. it also shows the manager spoke to either was ignorant to look at my phone. Call conversation or thought he could bully me.. the agent that told me the upgrade was an error, said the manager would not call me to apologize because she was doing it on behalf of the company. That is not good enough that manager was so rude and arrogant. I will never use Xfinity again because he did not personally apologize to me plus also this leads me to believe neither him nor any of the agents I dealt with that night will be reprimanded for their unprofessionalism. If anything like this happens to you with Xfinity, the key is file and FCC complaint. You’ll get an American representative to call you real quickly.
