Xfinity app not working

Hi I’m trying to set up my home internet. The people at the store said it’d be a piece of cake. All instructions say I need the app. Every time I try to login to the app to set up the internet it tells me “login successful but you have to be a user to enjoy this service” and it tells me I’m unauthorized. How can I be logged in yet not be a user?? I just want to set up my internet, why is this not working?? There’s nothing wrong with my login clearly because I’m logged in on the website so what’s the deal

• Click the "New message" (pencil and paper) icon 
• Type "Xfinity Support" in the to line and select "Xfinity Support" from the drop-down list 
• Type your message in the text area near the bottom of the window 
• Press Enter to send your message
