Xfinity app draining my iPhone’s battery

Just noticed lately that my Xfinity app is draining 70% of my battery. I checked my wife’s iPhone and it’s only draining 4%. I have deleted and reinstalled the app. Not installed any of the features and forced closed the app. Still draining my battery on my iPhone. Xfinity technical, where’s the fix?

My iPhone 11 Pro Max is experiencing battery drain that is extremely fast and battery temperature elevated so hot that you cannot pickup the phone psychically. The phone will return to normal operation when xfinity application is closed. Battery drainage and hot battery are concerns for some unseen access to my data or other phone access through the xfinity application itself. Xfinity knows about this access and will not tell consumers as to what is their application doing outside of the normal application functioning or they believe their application is free from glitches and their application has not been hacked and The issue of battery drain and battery got to touch is a result of the consumers iPhone IOS software Apple problem. When ever a phone is getting hot and there is a battery drain the application being used has something going on in the background of the phone which is causing the phone to work extra hard…. I believe the xfinity application has been compromised in some way and xfinity consumers are not being told because xfinity itself does not know about it. Someone at xfinity needs to review the application coding and discover the hacking codex and fix things asap. XFINITY WAKE UP UP APPLICATION HAS BEEN COMPROMISED SOMEONE WHOM CREATED THE APPLICATION LEFT A BACK DOOR AND A GROUP IS ACQUIRING ACCESS TO YOUR CONSUMERS DATA.

@user_5991da Thank you for reaching the Digital Care Team. Any time an app is not closed after use it will continue to use battery power. This is because the screen usually remains on and/or it is using background location which is constantly searching. You can turn off the location in the app so it stops searching. Do you close it after every use?

I no longer work for Comcast.

remove the app and only install it when you need it.  Otherwise leave it uninstalled

Weii my wife and I am experiancing the issue with thee Ne Xfinity app draining or iPhones. I have an iPhone 11 and the wife has a 12 mini. I have experimented with having Advanced Security on and off. The battery drain is at an extream with the AS enabled. I included screenshots the show the drain and extream backgound activity of yher Xfi app. First 12 hours show the Xfi drain and the second shows standard drain with NO XFINITY app activtiy. This situation needs a removal of the app or a drastic fix.

I see this appears to be a current issue.  I recently just started experiencing rapid battery depletion within the last 2 weeks on my iPhone 14Pro that is less than 1 year old.  When looking at the applications responsible for battery life, the Xfinity app is responsible for 82% of the battery usage.  I have since uninstalled the Xfinity app from my phone.  Hoping this app issue is resolved in the near future

This is a real problem...seems like it has not been fixed as I'm seeing posts from months ago. Customer Service seems unaware and will give you the run-around as mentioned on here and Reddit. Xfinity customer service...just google the title of this forum...you will see tons of posts. This did not happen with the My Account app...at least on my phone. Since the change over, it has.

As for my specific experience, I've noticed my iphone's battery is draining faster than it used to. When I check battery, guess what is at the top of the list...Xfinity app. Says 50% of the cause recently is this app due to "background activity". In fact, it shows that I've used the app on-screen for 3 mins, but background activity is 5 hours. I went to the Xfinity app settings and turned background refresh and everything else to Off. I even went into the app and signed out. Still...the app is doing something on the phone causing my battery to drain. What is going on here and when will Xfinity fix whatever they are doing with this app. Seems very shady...next step (soon)...remove app.

Just deleted the app, running purely in the background has been eating 50-70% of my battery each day.  This is not even close to acceptable.

The only solution I have found is to delete the app from mine and my wife’s iPhones. We still have the app on our iPads and do not see the issue there. BUT of course the Xfi Complete feature of advanced security is not avaliable to the iPads.

We are also having issues with our Apple devices unable to get updates or back up to the Apple Cloud (weak wifi signal) with the new TG modem that was the upgrade modem for the Xfi Complete. We had a Pod already and can access my Apple devices for update and back up when I pair with the Pod, but NOT when paired to the TG Modem.

based on your comments, i turned off advanced security and kept the app on my phone to test it. i think it might have fixed the issue because now the app is showing 4% battery consumption, which is in range of some other apps on my phone that i rarely use. wondering if this is the problem? either way, thanks for the info
